Position Overview:
The Butcher is responsible for preparing, cutting, and presenting various meat products to meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This role involves handling, processing, and storing meat while maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in compliance with health regulations. The Butcher works closely with the culinary team, suppliers, and customers to ensure consistent product availability and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meat Preparation and Cutting:
- Cut, trim, debone, and prepare meat products (e.g., beef, poultry, lamb, fish) according to specifications.
- Portion meat for display, storage, or customer requests.
- Ensure cuts are precise and meet quality standards for texture, flavor, and presentation.
- Inventory and Stock Management:
- Manage inventory to ensure a consistent supply of fresh meat.
- Monitor stock levels, conduct regular inventory checks, and report shortages.
- Properly label, package, and store meat to prevent spoilage.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain cutting equipment, grinders, and slicers.
- Ensure tools and workspaces are sanitized and safe for use.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to local health and safety regulations regarding meat handling and storage.
- Perform routine cleaning and disinfecting of work areas and equipment.
- Follow HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines for food safety.
- Customer Service and Collaboration:
- Advise customers on meat cuts, preparation methods, and portion sizes.
- Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to provide requested cuts for recipes or menus.
- Respond promptly to customer requests or complaints.
- Quality Assurance:
- Inspect incoming meat shipments to ensure they meet quality and freshness standards.
- Monitor meat for signs of spoilage or contamination.
- Ensure consistent presentation and portioning of products for display.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a butcher or in meat processing.
- Knowledge of various meat cuts, preparation techniques, and storage methods.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Physical ability to lift heavy cuts of meat and stand for extended periods.
- Familiarity with using and maintaining butchery tools and equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in meat cutting or food safety is a plus.

Salary Range:
QAR 1,500 – 1,800 per month
